Shenango Valley YMCA Fitness Center Safety and Comfort Information!

For Your Safety And Comfort!

Strength & Cardiovascular Training Areas
  • Free 101 with a Personal trainer!
  • Scan bar code when entering the facility or be manually checked in.
  • If you lose your barcode there is a $3 replacement fee.
  • When we are busy, limit time to 30 minutes on cardio equipment.
  • If all cardio machines are busy, please put your name on the appropriate waiting list, then erase it when you begin exercising.
  • Use cleaner and paper towels to wipe off cardiovascular equipment and benches after use. These are found in various areas of the Fitness Center.
  • Please do not wear street or outside shoes in the aerobic room.
  • Replace weights and dumbbells after use.
  • Please be courteous at all times.
  • Allow others to share equipment while you’re resting between sets.
  • Profanity is prohibited.
  • Stay in designated areas only.
  • Always ask a staff member to spot you when attempting maximum weights.
  • Please do not drop weights.
  • Please help keep our facility neat by cleaning up after yourself.
  • Please keep bags and personal belongings in the locker rooms or in cubbies.
  • Please remove belongings from lockers and cubbies when you leave.
  • See staff for sauna instruction.
  • Keep hands and feet away from moving equipment parts and weight racks.
  • Do not attempt to repair or adjust any equipment or weights that are damaged or malfunctioning. Report problem to a staff member.
  • Stop exercising immediately if you experience shortness of breathe, excessive sweating, light-headedness, rapid heart rate, chest pain, dizziness, muscular or joint pain etc.
  • Please limit use of cell phones to members lounge.
  • Children under 14 are not permitted to use the fitness center unless they pass the WIT Program class.
  • Members are expected to exit the building promptly at closing time.
  • Violation of these rules is grounds for termination of membership.

Please make every effort to follow these rules while using the Strength & Cardiovascular Training Areas. They are meant for your Safety & Comfort and will make your time, as well as other members time in our facility much more enjoyable!
