Brian Johnson YMCA Site Coordinator Reynolds Before and After School - Age Care
Brian Johnson is a graduate of Reynolds High School and Pennsylvania State University, Shenango Campus. He holds a bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Also at Penn State, he studied Occupational Therapy. Brian is certified in CPR/First Aid/AED through The American Heart Association. He is also certified in SPARK (Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids)
Brian enjoys volunteering for Reynolds High School’s athletic programs. From 2001-2005, he volunteered over 1,000 hours by assisting the athletic trainer in football, baseball, and basketball. He really enjoys giving his time back to the school he graduated from and the community in which has lived his entire life.
Brian began his association with the YMCA as a volunteer in the Spring of 2002. In the Fall of 2002, he began volunteering at the Reynolds Before and After School Program at Reynolds Elementary. He became the site assistant in April of 2003. Brian also completed a 360 hour internship at the YMCA in 2004, during that time he volunteered at Chaver's Community Center and also with the YBL program.
Brian became the site coordinator at Reynolds in March of 2006. As coordinator, Brian is responsible for implementing and directing activities, receiving and recording payments, and supervising staff and volunteers. He loves being able to work at the elementary school he attended and being a positive influence for the children in the community that he has proudly always has called home.
Brian also is a substitute TSS worker for Comprehensive Children and Family Services in Sharon. In his spare time, Brian enjoys working out, reading, fishing, baseball, and football. His future plans are to pursue a degree in Elementary Education.
